Macro Explained
This is often one area of the business that confuses members when they join Banners Broker many of whom have never had the system explained to them correctly. So I will do my best to explain how it works and then hopefully you will see that it really is quite simple and nothing to worry about.
The 2:1 Macro Rule

When you start your account with Banners Broker you will see this table above. To view this navigate to Manage Inventory >> View Panels.
The figures under each coloured section represent how many ‘traffic hits’ you can apply to panels of that colour.
Each time you qualify a panel the macro number will decrease by the number of hits required to qualify that panel. (yellow-5000, purple-15000, blue-45000, green-135000, red-405000 and black-1215000).
In the illustration you can see the numbers 25000, 75000, 225000, 675000, 2025000. This basically means that from the beginning you can qualify (providing you have enough traffic) 5 panels from each colour, except black panels which do not have a macro limit.
For example, if you have 100000 traffic credits this would allow you to qualify 20 yellow panels (20 x 5000 = 100000) but the macro will only allow you to qualify 5 (5 x 5000 = 25000). This would then zero the macro number for yellow and you would not be able to qualify any more panels.
So how do you increase the macro number? Well it is simple, to increase the macro number you must qualify a panel of the next highest colour. By doing this the macro number of the panel below will increase by a factor of 2.
For example, if you qualify 1 purple you will create macro to qualify 2 yellow panels (2 x 5000 = 10000). If you qualify 2 blue panels you will create enough macro to qualify 4 purple panels (4 x 15000 = 60000) and so on…..
Let me give you one more example. If you bought 11 yellow panels to go with the 2 complimentary panels that now need qualifying (13 in total). You can qualify 5 panels (5 x 5000) immediately leaving 8 panels that still need to be qualified. So what we do is qualify 4 purple panels to increase the yellow macro by 8 x 5000 = 40000. This will now allow you to qualify the 8 yellow panels remaining.
It’s complicated at first but you will soon get the hang of it!
The following table illustrates the filter effect when you qualify a black panel. Note, black panels do not have a macro limit and you can qualify as many as you like.

So as you can see, if you qualify 1 black panel it will increase the macro number so that you can now qualify 2 more red panels (810000), 4 more greens and so on ….. Imagine when you qualify 6 blacks and that filters down to 192 yellows!
The above information only relates to ‘bought’ traffic packs . It is also possible to increase the macro number by getting referrals and this will be dealt with in another blog.
I hope this has made it easier for you to understand The Macro Rule,
